This is the Shamrock Bar and Restaurant and one of the most popular places on the island for friends to gather. This was originally the Village Inn and was located across the street. It began as a dance hall and ice cream parlor. After it was moved to its present site it was converted to a tavern and was renamed the Shamrock. In the summer there is live music most week-ends. The Shamrock offers summer diners an excellent outside dining room over-looking the harbor. Family and friends gather at the Shamrock at the drop of a hat. New Year's Eve, St. Patrick's Day (of course), first boat in the spring, Homecoming (second Sunday in August), Memorial Day, Labor Day, birthdays, anniversaries, and just to come out and see what everyone else is up to. All trips to the island require stopping here for libation.
