Directly across the street from the Holy Cross Parish Hall is the Jewell F. Gillespie Memorial Park, generally referred to as "the playground". This is one of the busiest beaches during the summer months. The kids can swim and play on the toys while parents visit, swim and watch the boat traffic in the harbor. There is no life-guard here, however there is an automatic 911 phone in case of emergency. Within walking distance of Harbour Market and Daddy Frank's, getting refreshments on a hot summer day is no problem. Just be sure to bring your sunscreen. |
