This large building in the woods in the Christian Brothers Retreat House.   For over fifty years Brothers from all over the world have been visiting Beaver Island.  Although the true name is the Brother Domnan Lodge, it is simply referred to as the Brothers' Place. Built in 1928, it operated for 70 years as a retreat house by the Christian Brothers religious order.  The lodge, located amid the towering pines just on the edge of town is now available to the public from June through September.  It's the perfect place for your family reunion, anniversary celebration, class reunion, an inexpensive place to spend the night, or just as a relaxing get-away from city life.  The building abounds with antiques and the long screened in porch offers rockers, swings, or just chairs where one can sit and let their troubles float away.
